I will now suggest the following method:

After reciting several times the Jesus Prayer,
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on your servant (so and so)”,

change the prayer as follows,
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me”,

and at the same time feel that you are that person – with all his mess- and pray that God will have mercy on you and whatever else you would like to wish for yourself…

Try it..

NB: The above can be applied for any person close to you, who has a problem and you would like to pray for him (or her).
