706 (PRAYER/ FAITH/ JESUS PRAYER/ SERVICES) When we say, “keep saying the Jesus Prayer unceasingly” -believing that it will be answered according to our wishes- it is the same as saying, “concentrate your whole mind on the Service”, trusting that all that is asked for in it shall be granted. For, the Jesus Prayer, i.e., “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me” and the Services in the Church have exactly the same meaning. The Jesus Prayer is a summary and synopsis of what is said in the Services and, conversely, the Services are a detailed analysis of the Jesus Prayer… Let us also note this:
When you believe that all that you ask for in the Jesus Prayer (or in the Services in the Church) will be granted; then, firstly, you concentrate more easily on the words of the prayer; secondly, you feel very well; and, thirdly -and most importantly- your prayers are heard, as we have many times pointed out, according to the word of the Lord: “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).
