Of course man puts the desire and effort, and God the victory! As I said, a passion will be cut off when you wish it; for, it goes without saying that God wants you to cut off a passion. So, it is up tο you! It is sufficient to understand this well and master it one hundred per cent in your mind, that the passion must be cut without fail; and after realizing it, to desire strongly your redemption from it, to make your humble efforts (as much as it depends on your own will), and at the same time praying God to have mercy on you and give you the final victory, which only He can provide.
