Today’s weekly Paternal Advice is about GOOD SELF-CONFIDENCE.

(GOOD SELF-CONFIDENCE/SPIRITUAL STRUGGLE/ SPIRITUAL ZEAL/ EXERCISE/ THOUGHTS)

It is common for believers, when they read about the lives or teachings of saints and their physical or spiritual exploits, to record – with the collaboration of the evil one– in their subconscious mind the following:

“But how can I do the physical or spiritual exercises that they did? I have no case…”

And these reflections, without realizing it, stop them from carrying on, defeat their spiritual alertness, their spiritual “nerve” and generally their fighting spirit…

My brother, do not be deceived by the evil one nor by your thoughts:

Do what YOU can do, do what is within YOUR own powers, and, once you start you will see that you will improve bit by bit… (I am not referring – by God – to the commission of sin, but to spiritual exercise).

God will show you what comes next…

Keep confident, in relation to your beliefs, when you know they are right and do not be influenced by those holding contrary positions…

Let us not forget that we are at the end of times, which Saint Anthony and other holy Fathers spoke of and said:

At the end of times people will rage (i.e., they will go mad) and if they see or hear someone speaking or behaving properly, they will say to him, “You are raging”, i.e., you are crazy(!!!!)
