764 (CHILDREN/ HUMBLE SPIRIT/ SIMPLICITY/ FAITH)

In the midst of all the worries, anxieties and fears by which we humans are dominated, we realize the need to approach God with the mind of an infant! (a little child!)

The frail and weak body of the infant (or the one who has the mind of a little child) is covered with an invisible garment, the grace and the hidden care of God the Father.

Saint Isaac the Syrian says: “Approach God with the mind of a little child, and so walk your way before Him, so that you may be worthy to feel that fatherly care which little children feel on the part of their parents.”

By doing so, my brother, the anxieties, the worries, the fears that may possess us will be absent, or at least minimized.

The Lord also assures us: “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 18:3).

And elsewhere: “Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a child, will by no means enter it. And he embraced them, laid His hands on them and blessed them” (Mark 10, 14-16).
