In various places in our Paternal Advices, we mention the related words, spiritual zeal, fervour, spiritual well-being, alertness, etc. (please search, if you wish, throughout the entire Archive of the paternal Advices).

This state (of spiritual zeal) is very important during our route of meeting and uniting with the Triune God. At the same time, spiritual fervour is what keeps us from any falls in our struggle.

With the above situation in mind, I bring to your attention the following advice:

If you see a temptation approaching and at the same time you see your spiritual resistance, zeal and fervour waning, your first job is to reignite your spiritual “antibodies “, your spiritual fervour and resistance!

For, if you do not do this, you can be sure that you will be led, with mathematical precision, to the fall…

You need, therefore, to be alert and vigilant on the one hand, so that you are able to perceive the above, and on the other hand, especially at the time of temptation, to increase your spiritual zeal, so that you can resist and intercept the enemy (the devil or your fallen self), thus avoiding the fall…
