Even those who are not accustomed to confession on a regular basis, during this period, along with the fasting, are also preparing for the sacrament of the Holy Confession.
Therefore, let us find some time to sit down and examine ourselves, with the help of our conscience…
A practical way of examining our actions is as follows:
Since our life more or less repeats itself every day, with some slight variations of course, let us this day remember and examine first the time when we woke up; how I woke up, what I did, what followed in the morning; what intervened at noon; what in the afternoon and what in the evening…
And let us note on a piece of paper the basics, on which we find that we erred, we slipped, and fell…
By doing so, i.e. noting down our falls on a piece of paper (in a word or a short phrase), we shall discover that we shall be longing for the time to go and disclose them so that they would go away!
Finally, we should note, that it is very important to have a specific Spiritual Father in our life… To respect him, to love him, to trust him and consider him as our father, believing that God speaks to us through him!
I wish you a Good Lent and a Happy Christmas!
